The Canadian Museum of Civilization (Musee Canadien des Civilisations) is a museum of the history of Canada, from the culture and heritage of its Aboriginal people to the Vikings and stories of the leaders and figures who have shaped the nation over time.
Located in Gatineau, approx 4km north of Ottawa. Bus 8 (from Ontario) and buses 21,31,33,35, 67 and 77 (from Quebec) stop nearby.
Open daily 9am-5pm (from 9:30am weekends). Open to 8pm Thursdays. Closed 25 Dec. Entry $12 adults, £10 students/seniors, $8 ages 3-12. Family tickets, other discounts available, e.g. combined tickets with other museums. Free entry Thursdays 4pm-8pm, 1 July, 11 Nov.
